"Rites of Spring"

Winters can be long and arduous. The feeders are full and snow shovels lay in wait. A cold wind is blowing, homemade soup is on the stove and the sky is searingly blue. We feel comforted by the toasty fire and the safety of being inside these four walls, yet we so long for spring. The sounds of robins, the sightings of the first snowdrops and daffodils lift our spirits and let us know; no matter, spring will not be denied!
